The Concordia University Student Union's 2026–27 student handbook is raising questions about how student fees are being spent and what political messaging the union is promoting on campus.

The $33,000 budgeted handbook publication contains dozens of pages of political material, including criticism of elections, references to Montreal as “so-called Montreal,” a ‘Strike Guide’ telling students blocking classrooms is resistance, and a campaign encouraging students to write to prisoners, including individuals convicted in terrorism-related cases.

Its calendar also omits Canadian holidays and civic dates such as Christmas and Remembrance Day while highlighting days like Nakba Day and the 1959 Cuban Revolution Day.

Rebel News took the handbook directly to Concordia students to see what they thought of its contents and whether their fees should fund it.
