COVID mandates prevent unvaccinated people from visiting their loved ones in the hospital
This is my second report on the new measures put in place on October 15, which prevent those who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 from visiting their loved ones in the hospital.
The launch of our LetUsVisit.ca petition began with the story of Mr. Summer. This time, it is the story of Mr. Alain Guérin and his wife, Mrs. Nancy Beaulieu.
Mrs. Beaulieu was urgently hospitalized due to two cerebral aneurysms. For several hours Mr. Guérin stayed with his wife, until she was admitted.
What Mr. Guérin did not know was that he would subsequently be denied access to his wife.
During the first few days, Mr. Guérin had to scramble to get the hospital to allow their 11-year-old daughter to visit her mother. Despite this, Mrs. Beaulieu's morale continues to decline and so does Mr. Guérin's as they continue to be forced apart.
Mr. Guerin even got his first vaccine and scheduled an appointment for his second one, in order to show his good will and demonstrate that he is prepared to do anything to be allowed to visit at his wife's bedside. Despite this, he has received no positive response from the hospital.
Today, he hopes that compassion among the staff will allow him to spend some time alone with his sweetheart.
If you agree with me that our loved ones and those we consider important should be allowed to visit us in the hospital, please go to LetUsVisit.ca and sign our petition. You can also send an email directly to Premiers across the country, demanding that they allow unvaccinated people to visit loved ones in the hospital by clicking here.
Please help us to put an end to these inhumane policies.
