Trudeau, OPEC and coronavirus: Alberta under attack on three fronts

Alberta is being hammered by a three-fold assault on our economy:

The first front in the war on Alberta is five years of Justin Trudeau in power in Ottawa, with his anti-fossil-fuel agenda, his carbon tax, and his addiction to spending tax dollars.

(Four of those years were made worse by Premier Rachel Notley mirroring and supporting Trudeau.)

The second front is the predatory dumping of oil into the international markets by Russia and Saudi Arabia and their OPEC partners, to drive down the cost of North American oil. The result has been Alberta oil trading at a lower per barrel price than a gallon of milk in the grocery store.

The third front is the coronavirus and the subsequent social distancing measures meant to stop the spread of the infection that has resulted in a near shut down of major sectors of the Canadian economy.

Joining me tonight to discuss the devastating effects of these three simultaneous catastrophes unfolding in the Alberta business community is William McBeath from Save Calgary.
