The Trudeau government has recently intensified its efforts to regulate firearms, targeting lawful gun owners such as hunters, farmers, and sport shooters. This includes a comprehensive buyback program for what the government refers to as "assault-style" firearms, affecting over 1,500 models. While the government asserts that these measures are necessary to address gun violence, many believe that the real problem — crime involving illegal guns and smuggling — is being overlooked. Instead, the focus remains on those who follow the law and use firearms responsibly.

The legislation, part of Bill C-21, not only mandates the confiscation and destruction of these firearms but also seeks to limit the capacity of gun magazines and ban handguns altogether through a national freeze on sales. Despite claims that these policies respect the rights of hunters and rural Canadians, the measures disproportionately impact lawful owners without effectively tackling the root causes of gun-related crime, such as gang violence and smuggling across borders.

By signing the petition, you are taking a stand against this overreach and advocating for common-sense solutions that protect the rights of responsible gun owners while targeting the true sources of gun violence.

If you agree that the Trudeau government must stop punishing lawful firearm owners, please sign the petition on this page.
