A January 26 document described the multi-million dollar Freedom Convoy fundraising efforts as "unlikely" to fund terrorism. “All ideologically motivated violent extremist attacks in Canada have been low cost and low in sophistication,” wrote managers at the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre.

The revelation was first reported in Blacklock's Reporter, Tuesday morning.

“The potential for funds being used for violent activity seems unlikely at this time considering ideologically motivated violent extremist crowdfunding is usually not used towards conducting violent activity.”

The memo was dated two days prior to the peaceful three-week-long anti-covid restriction landing in Ottawa on January 28.

Though the money was deemed by analysts not to be intended to bank-roll anti-Canadian acts, the Federal government froze the convoy funds on February 14 through the invocation of the anti-terrorism law, the Emergencies Act.
