Millions of dollars given to anti-oil Pembina Institute by Trudeau government

I've tallied up how much the Liberals have just given away in the form of grants to the anti-oil Pembina Institute since May 2017.

Yesterday, I told you about how the Liberals tried to lie and hide how they have given $183,000 in work contracts to the anti-oil Pembina Institute since 2017.

But that's just contracts. What about grants?

Just how much money are taxpayers forking over to the Rockefeller Foundation’s Canadian point men on the Tar Sands campaign to landlock Canadian oil and gas?

I found all the grants and I started adding them up.

  • $200,000 was granted on May 31st, 2017 by Natural Resources Canada.
  • $15,000 was granted July 19th, 2018, by Natural Resources Canada to promote Alberta's NDP climate leadership plan.
  • Another $375,000 was handed out March 29th, 2019 from the Western economic diversification agency to establish the Business Renewables Center.
  • Roughly $600,000 in federal grant money flowed to the government institute in the lead-up to Notley's failed 2019 re-election campaign.

The grants to the Pembina Institute since May 2017 total 5.5 million dollars — 5.3 million dollars more than they were granted by the Harper Conservatives over the course of 10 years.
