Chinese owned Chinese restaurant bans Chinese students due to coronavirus fears in Nova Scotia

A Chinese restaurant in Nova Scotia has posted a note in their window banning local Chinese university students from eating in.

The Fortune Star Chinese Restaurant in Sydney, just ten minutes away from Cape Breton University, has since closed their doors for the rest of the month.

A Chinese student at CBU uploaded a photo of the notice to Fortune Star's Facebook page saying that sign indicated that they will not serve Chinese anymore due to the coronavirus, despite being owned and staffed by Chinese people

Another student, posting to the same Facebook page, said that the note indicated that Chinese can still order delivery, but can't walk in to take out.

There are approximately 3,500 Chinese university students attending universities in Nova Scotia, some of whom traveled to their homes in Wuhan over Christmas break.
