- Sask. NDP leader silent on MLA's “F---ing nightmare” criticism of oilsands; showed up in gas-guzzler
Last night I was in Regina, Saskatchewan at the leaders debate between Premier Scott Moe, of the Saskatchewan Party, and his challenger, the NDP's Ryan Meili, ahead of the upcoming provincial election on October 26.
Now, I wasn't actually allowed inside the venue; The mainstream media consortium — CBC, CTV and Global News — had restricted access, naturally denying us the chance to ask some tough, hard-hitting questions of the candidates.
That wasn't going to deter me from asking questions outside of the venue when the leaders showed up, though. I got my chance outside as both leaders headed in, and you'll have to watch my video to see just how Premier Moe and Meili responded.
I even got a nice souvenir for my efforts, as you can see from my tweet:
Thank you so much to the City of Regina for giving me a ticket, but not the lineup of mainstream media vehicles parked right next to me. Very cool! pic.twitter.com/hpXy9sA6lP
