Scotiabank fires executive for antisemitic comments online after Rebel News exposé
Scotiabank appears to have finally taken action and fired its former Senior Credit Structuring Manager, Rayan Malak.
On last night's episode of The Ezra Levant Show, guest host David Menzies reacted to Scotiabank firing one of its executives only after Rebel News published a report exposing the man's disturbing online posts towards Jews.
As David explains, leadership at Scotiabank seemingly refused to take action and fire Rayan Malak despite Rebel News' contacting its media relations department about the comments.
The bank appears to have only sprung into action following Rebel News' publication of a report exposing some of the concerning statements that Malak has allegedly posted online over the years.
"The point is the bank no longer had an excuse that they were unaware of Malak's online hatred. They had at least a week to get ahead of the story, yet Scotiabank chose not to do so," said David.
"That was a very bad choice, because fast-forward to last Monday afternoon when our story about Malak was published, and can you believe it? Within hours of this story making the rounds, it appears Scotiabank did indeed fire Malak," he continued.
"Our friend Leviathan told me that all of Malak's official contact information has now been scrubbed from Scotiabank's website," David added.
A source in the financial services sector revealed to David that Scotiabank CEO Scott Thomson apparently sent an internal email to employees confirming Malak's firing and stating 'there is no role for hate.'
