Fact Check: A vote for Option 2 on October 19 is not a vote to separate Alberta
An Option 2 victory would not make Alberta independent and does not constitute a binding vote to separate. Instead, it would direct the Alberta government to begin the legal process necessary to hold a binding referendum on whether Alberta should separate.
