Debunking election campaign climate change myths
Green Party leader Elizabeth May settled in for a friendly and comfortable two hour interview with CBC Radio over the weekend, but it didn't go according to plan.
CBC's long-running show, Cross Country Check-Up, invited May on for an "ask me anything" open line style call-in show, wherein May articulated her bizarre (and entirely unachievable) plans to phase out oil and gas in Canada by 2030.
Given CBC Radio's left-leaning audience, there weren't a lot of prickly questions thrown May's way. Things were going well for the Green Queen until Ft. McMurray pro-oilsands activist Robbie Picard could take no more:
He called in to the show to remind May that her paternalistic schemes would drive First Nations people — Robbie's people — into extreme poverty.
