Trump signed an executive order formally designating Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization, mandating that federal agencies “utilize all applicable authorities to investigate, disrupt, and dismantle” Antifa operations and hold accountable those who provide support. From that moment forward, the U.S. federal government has treated political violence by Antifa not as a protest tactic, but as a national security threat.
