Grace Tame is Threatening to Sue Avi Yemini — We’re Fighting Back with Australia’s Top Media Lawyer

GraceTame.com has been online for some time, redirecting visitors to our petition calling for Grace Tame to be stripped of her Australian of the Year title and charged with incitement to violence.

After a fresh wave of criticism about her new role with the ABC, conduct, and public statements, Grace Tame is now threatening legal action that would attempt to force this domain offline and silence criticism.

This is not about facts or fairness. It is about a powerful tax-payer funded activist attempting to use the courts as a weapon against a journalist who dared to hold her accountable.

The same woman who led crowds in chants of "globalise the intifada" and dismissed reports of the October 7 gang rapes as "propaganda" now threatens to shut down GraceTame.com and drag Avi Yemini and Rebel News into costly, time-consuming legal proceedings.

Avi will not be intimidated.

That is why we have retained one of Australia's leading media lawyers and launched a dedicated Grace Tame Legal Threat Fund campaign. While donations support Avi's wider legal defence efforts, the campaign has been established to ensure we are ready to fight back should Tame proceed with legal action.

Donate to Avi Yemini's legal defence fund to fight Grace Tame’s legal threat

This petition calls to strip Grace Tame of her 2021 Australian of the Year honour following her public chant to “globalise the intifada” at a Sydney rally. She has since doubled down, even denying the gang rape of Jewish women on October 7.

We also call for authorities to charge her for criminal incitement to violence under existing Australian law. We do not need new “hate speech” laws — current laws are sufficient if the threshold for incitement has been crossed.

Strip Grace Tame of Australian of the Year Honour and investigate incitement

In 2021, Grace Tame was named Australian of the Year — an honour reserved for individuals who reflect the values, unity and integrity of our nation.

At a recent anti-Israel rally in Sydney, she led thousands in chanting: “From Gadigal to Gaza, globalise the intifada.”

The term “intifada” is historically associated with violent uprisings. Its use by a former national honouree has caused profound distress within the Jewish community and concern across Australia — especially after the Bondi Beach terror attack.

This is about responsibility, not silencing debate.

✅ Australians have the right to protest.

✅ Australians have the right to criticise foreign governments.

✅ Australians have the right to speak freely.

❌ But no one has the right to incite violence.

Public prominence should not provide immunity.

Why the honour must be revoked

The Australian of the Year award is meant to unite, not divide. When a recipient engages in rhetoric that many Australians see as legitimising violent struggle, it undermines the integrity of the honour.

What we are demanding

  1. The National Australia Day Council — Immediately strip her honour.
  2. Law enforcement authorities — Charge her for criminal incitement to violence under existing law.

If you believe national honours should reflect values that unite Australians, and that incitement to violence must be taken seriously, add your name today.
