We’re Done Getting Screwed!
RSVP for our Emergency Town Hall in Regina!
Our Alberta town halls are SOLD OUT!
(Surely there will be some no-shows, so if you’re really set on being there, just show up — we’ll try our best to get you in, and you can pay at the door!)
Mark Carney is Prime Minister.
Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada handed him a majority — while the West, once again, was left out in the cold. We’ve seen this movie before: a government we didn’t vote for, a prime minister we didn’t elect, and a federal agenda that treats Alberta like a punching bag — to be taxed, scolded, and shut down.
But this time, something changed.
The very next day, Premier Danielle Smith’s government introduced a bill that could change everything.
A New Path to Independence
Tucked inside Alberta's Election Statutes Amendment Act, 2025, is a quiet revolution: a change to the rules governing referendums — specifically, the rules around the Citizen Initiative Act.
Previously, launching a binding referendum required 600,000 signatures in just 90 days — an impossible bar for any grassroots movement. But now? The threshold has been cut in half and recalculated to reflect 10% of voters from the last election.
That’s fewer than 200,000 signatures, according to constitutional lawyer Keith Wilson.
This isn’t a meme. It’s not a fantasy. It’s a legal pathway to independence — and for the first time, it’s within reach.
Why DoneGettingScrewed.com?
We’ve launched DoneGettingScrewed.com to give Albertans a voice. It’s your hub to:
-
Support fair and fearless journalism on Western alienation and autonomy
-
Get exclusive Western-first merch to show where you stand
-
Fund campaigns — from billboards to polls — that push back against Laurentian elites and tell our side of the story
No more being ignored. No more being silenced. No more getting screwed.
This is About Options. This is About Leverage.
Ottawa thinks it can keep stomping on Alberta’s prosperity, its industries, and its freedoms. But next time they try to grab our guns, shut down our energy sector, or force their globalist vision on the West, we’ll remind them of one number:
177,000.
That’s all it takes now.
And for the one-third of Western Canadians who support independence — more than the NDP and Carney’s Liberals in the West combined — we’re done being told to sit down and shut up. You are not fringe. You are not radical. You are growing — and you will be heard.

Was born in Edmonton. Moved to USA as a boy but feel like I’m a patriot for both nations. Served during the Vietnam Conflict so that means I’m old but not afraid to stand up.
Haven’t followed Canadian politics too much over the years though. But when Trump imposed big tariffs on Canadian exports i took notice and started a cram course in current Canadian politics.
This cram course led me to conclude that what is happening now is right out of Ayn Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged”. Atlas Shrugged is “an apocalyptic vision of the last stages of conflict between two classes of humanity—the looters and the non-looters. The looters are proponents of high taxation, big labor, government ownership, government spending, government planning, regulation, and redistribution.” Hmm. does any of this sound familiar?
“Atlas Shrugged” was first released in 1957 and has been in continuous publication ever since. The only publication that has sold more copies is the bible.
Great art can be used to drive home political messages. For example, a few years back when Biden created a new department of “disinformation” everyone immediately recognized it as the “Ministry of Truth” from George Orwell’s classic “1984”. Making the “Ministry of Truth” connection resulted in the new department of misinformation being trashed and ridiculed and Biden eventually abandoned the idea. If Orwell hadn’t written “1984” I think getting rid of the department of disinformation would have been a lot more difficult.
I think “Atlas Shrugged” is a treasure chest of material that can be used to drive Carney and his minions crazy.
In one instance the wording is the same. In my cram session I first learned of the “Equalization Act”. Atlas Shrugged describes an “Equalization Board” which is used for essentially the same purpose.
Hopefully some of the rebel news contributors will read or reread this novel looking for gems that can be used in your conflict with Carney (in Atlas Shrugged it was President Thompson) but I think that you should immediately stop referring to Carney as “Prime Minister’ and start referring to him as a looter.
But using the word looter is just a start.
You might start referring to alberta as “galt’s gulch”.
Or asking barney minions why he is promoting policies that will ultimately transform Canada into an orwellian dystopia. Stuff like that.
Your contributors should be able to find lots of other gems when they read the novel.
There are at least 10s of millions around the planet who have read atlas Shrugged and who are ayn Rand fans. If you start working references to the novel in an effective manner some of these fans are bound to see them and become interested in the conflict because they will see it for what it is. Atlas Shrugged playing out in real life.
This could ultimately become a huge new source of support.
I mean, you drug me in. I just donated $25 to rebel News and never would have done this if I wasn’t totally impressed with all the Rebel news interviews I’ve seen and picked up on the connection to atlas shrugged. -

The closest thing to that I have is the flag for Rupert’s Land, the one used by the Hudson’s Bay Company. -

I have been looking for one for months but no luck so far -
