Health Canada’s answer to vaccine injured Canadians is a portal update
Four days of sworn testimony from vaccine-injured Canadians was heard while Canada's health agency was eerily silent. Then, a week later, they posted an update about ‘progress.’
For four eight-hour days in Ottawa, the Allison Inquiry heard sworn testimony from Canadians describing devastating injuries, permanent disability, and death in the wake of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout. Grown men cried. A mother described holding an oxygen mask to her dying 24-year-old daughter's face.
A Conservative MP recounted his son and daughter-in-law losing their baby after she was forced to take the vaccine through her workplace. Former elite athletes testified from wheelchairs. A veteran, chin quivering, described trusting the "safe and effective" messaging that came directly from Canada's public health apparatus.

Throughout all four days, the Public Health Agency of Canada said nothing at all. This is the agency then under the leadership of Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam that shaped the guidance, risk communications and "safe and effective" framing governments and institutions relied on to justify vaccine mandates.
Then, exactly one week later, PHAC finally spoke. What Canadians got wasn't acknowledgment of the testimony or answers for the families. It was a progress update on portals, transferred files, and more than 2,000 outstanding compensation claims and appeals still waiting to be assessed — under a program PHAC had quietly rebranded from the Vaccine Injury Support Program to the Vaccine Impact Assistance Program earlier this year.
The update named none of the people who testified.
Not Abigail, the 24-year-old cardiology tech who died six weeks after a rare cancer diagnosis. Not Sean Hartman, the 17-year-old hockey player found dead after his shot in 2021. Not Jasmeet Grewal, who went from healthy to unable to swallow water, submitting more than 8,200 pages to the compensation program only to be denied.
The inquiry also featured researchers presenting findings on rising cancer rates among the vaccinated and infected, including a case where fragments of vaccine genetic material were reportedly found in a young woman's bladder tumor, and another in a man's cardiac tumor that had spread to his brain before he died. Multiple institutions, the testimony noted, have declined to investigate the pattern further.

Writing in the Toronto Sun after the hearings, columnist Irvin Studin called the vaccine rollout the biggest health policy mistake in Canadian history at best, and a crime against humanity at worst. He cited the need for resignations, investigations, and a genuine public inquiry called by the prime minister himself.
Meanwhile, the compensation system itself remains mired in the same dysfunction claimants have described for years: disappearing case managers, restarted files, missing documents, and a revolving door of administrators even PHAC's own July update admitted causes frustration.
None of the failures – or any fixes – appeared in PHAC's ‘progress’ update. What Canadians got instead, after four days of testimony under oath about lost children, ruined bodies, and shattered families, was language about "core implementation work."
Not an apology, no accountability, just on-paper promises wrapped in a new name.
