LIVE UPDATES: Judge hears lawsuit demanding Elections Alberta investigate Forever Canadian campaign
Is Thomas Lukaszuk's Forever Canadian group officially campaigning for Alberta's upcoming referendum? We're demanding a judge order Elections Alberta to investigate Forever Canadian — or explain why they refuse to do so.

Article by Rebel News staff.
Today, at the Calgary Courts Centre, a judge is hearing our application in Emergency Chambers — court file 2601-16399, Rebel News Network Ltd. v. Election Commissioner of Alberta and Chief Electoral Officer of Alberta.
To summarize this legal challenge, which you can read in full at StopTheCheaters.com, the "Forever Canadian" group being run by Thomas Lukaszuk is doing numerous things that would typically be associated with campaigning for the "Remain" vote on the upcoming October referendum.
Forever Canadian has a Unity Bus, has set up two provincial offices, has handed out thousands of lawn signs and are hosting a free concert on September 20 featuring Jann Arden.
Despite all of this, Elections Alberta's own public register shows Forever Canadian has raised exactly $0.00 in funds.
This led to our submission of a 241-page complaint on July 24, only for Elections Alberta to take no action after 48 days. That's why a judge is hearing our case today.
We're not calling on the court to punish Forever Canadian — we're asking it to order Elections Alberta to do its job. That means, investigate Forever Canadian or simply refuse and explain why before the vote on Oct. 19.
