Macron condemns Islamic terrorism, Canada tweets about free expression... “with respect”

On last night's episode of The Ezra Levant Show, we looked at the rise of terrorism in France, in particular the murder of a teacher named Samuel Paty and the resulting political reaction.

A Muslim “refugee” in France murdered Paty. He cut off his head with a foot-long knife, the preferred method of killing infidels in the Koran.

Here's a bit of what Ezra had to say about Canada's response, compared to the response from the French president Emmanuel Macron:

“World leaders chose sides — radicals in the Muslim world condemned France, and Macron. Some democrats and liberals sided with France.

“Trudeau? He stayed silent for ten days, only saying something grudgingly when asked about it by the Bloc Quebecois.

“And look at this atrocious tweet by his Foreign minister:

“Hang on. Canada will only defend freedom of expression with respect? As in, if you show respect for Mohammed, you’re fine. But if you don’t — like Charlie Hebdo didn’t, and presumably, as Emmanuel Macron is not — then, you won’t?

“When did that last part get added in? Freedom of expression with respect. What? Respect for whom, for what? Where is that in any law book or history book, or our charter of rights. Sure, you have freedom of expression — only if you bow down to me and don’t insult me or offend me or bother me. If you respect me — that is, if you do nothing that I don’t want you to do — you can say whatever you like. As long as it is what I like. So you can have all the freedom of speech in the world, subject to whatever I say.”

This is just a clip from the full Ezra Levant Show.
