UPDATE: Alex Jones RESPONDS, explains that his interviews and several others will be left exclusively on the YouTube platform.
Joe Rogan's popular podcast is now available on Spotify after signing an exclusivity deal. But users were quick to notice that several episodes featuring prominent conservative-leaning figureheads are not available.
Notable examples include Alex Jones, Jordan Peterson's daughter Mikhaila and Rebel alum Gavin McInnes.
Censorship at Spotify
In a series of tweets, Mikhaila Peterson states that she has been scrubbed the the JRE back catalog.
Spotify announced the deal back in May of this year:
The Joe Rogan Experience, one of the most popular podcasts in the world, is coming to Spotify via a multi-year exclusive licensing deal...
In addition to the wildly popular podcast format, JRE also produces corresponding video episodes, which will also be available on Spotify as in-app vodcasts.
Bringing the JRE to Spotify will mean that the platform’s more than 286 million active users will have access to one of culture’s leading voices.
List of Banned Episodes
A Rebel viewer responds with the full list:
The deal is reportedly worth 100 million USD and Rogan said that it would remain unchanged:
“It will be the exact same show,” Rogan says. “I am not going to be an employee of Spotify. We’re going to be working with the same crew doing the exact same show.”
Alex Jones' podcasts were removed from several platforms include Apple, Facebook and Spotify in 2018.
Ezra Levant interviewed Alex at the Infowars headquarters last year. You can watch it now:
