Conservative MP Kerry Diotte skeptical of how Liberals plan to fund their promises
Conservative MPs have returned to Parliament following Justin Trudeau's bizarre Speech from the Throne.
Kerry Diotte, a Conservative MP from Edmonton, Alberta, spoke with me on his way out of Parliament this week. As a former broadcaster, he was particularly alarmed by Trudeau’s plan to strengthen “hate speech” laws.
Diotte talked to me about the Conservative Party’s response to government censorship while a general election looms, mocked the Liberals for promising child care for 20 years, and gave the throne speech “two thumbs down."
MPs are expected to vote to either support or oppose the speech late next week. Between then and now, MPs are debating the content of the government's agenda.
