Erin O'Toole and Derek Sloan at the #IPGdebate
Rebel News sent five reporters to the Independent Press Gallery's inaugural event last night in Toronto, featuring Conservative Party of Canada leadership candidates Erin O'Toole and Derek Sloan.
Our five reporters — Keean Bexte, Sheila Gunn Reid, Andrew Chapados, David Menzies and Drea Humphrey — quizzed the candidates on topics ranging from Hong Kong to national unity to Black Lives Matter.
After candidate Dr. Leslyn Lewis was forced to drop out due to a medical issue, sending a campaign representative instead, candidate Peter MacKay decided against attending the debate.
With only two candidates left, the debate format was modified into a fireside chat hosted by Andrew Lawton with a media scrum at the end of the night.
Back at our headquarters, Ezra Levant hosted a livestream of the event for the viewers at home.
If you missed the stream last night, WATCH this video to see all of the questions from our reporters and see how O'Toole and Sloan responded!
