Fact Check: Is Option 2 gaining support among Alberta’s business leaders?

For months, opponents of Alberta independence have insisted that serious business leaders want nothing to do with Option 2. That claim is becoming harder to maintain.

His observations were backed up by James Finkbeiner, founder of a Canadian communications firm, who said he has witnessed the same change among CEOs, chief operating officers, corporate directors and business owners.
“Carney had a year and blew it,” Finkbeiner wrote. “Every failure has been another small cut, and they’re done with the bullshit.”
Business leaders can see what Ottawa’s policies have produced: cancelled pipelines, hostile energy legislation, investment uncertainty and a federal government that treats Alberta’s largest industry as something to be contained rather than developed.
The business community’s question is changing. Will remaining under Ottawa’s control guarantee more economic damage?
