Coincidence or not, almost immediately after it was clear that the NDP’s John Horgan would remain the provinces premier, only now with a majority government, British Columbians found themselves under new COVID-19 restrictions.

Dr. Bonnie Henry, the provincial health officer, struck a nerve with many when she decided to ban private household gatherings  except for family and your safe six.” Now some B.C. residents are unhappy with what they consider to be government overreach.

In Victoria, the capital of the province, a group of around 80 citizens peacefully gathered in front of the Ministry of Health building, where Dr. Bonnie Henry is hard at work deciding what restrictions can be put in place.

Thanks to the passing of Bill 19 which protects her, Henry can do so with little consequence, even if these new restrictions end up causing more issues to the people than COVID-19 itself.

The rally was called the Victoria Freedom Protest” and was hosted by a group called Celebration of Freedoms and Rights, one of the main groups that recently hosted the two day B.C. Mega Freedom Rally 2020 in Vancouver BC.
