‘Reclaiming Alberta?’ National conference brings strategy and debate to Calgary

We Unify heads outside B.C. for the first time, bringing more than 40 speakers together to tackle some of Canada’s biggest political and cultural questions at a pivotal moment for Alberta.

For the first time, We Unify’s annual Reclaiming Canada conference is heading outside of British Columbia, and with Alberta preparing for a historic referendum later this month, its new name couldn’t be much more timely: Reclaiming Alberta.

The grassroots leadership conference will take place this coming weekend on Oct. 3 and 4 at Calgary’s Carriage House Hotel and Conference Centre, bringing together more than 40 speakers to tackle everything from free speech and the media to constitutional law, culture and, perhaps most timely, Alberta’s future within Canada.

Conference spokesperson Natalie St. Hilaire says in addition to speeches, debates will be an important part of the event.

“We do have speakers from all over Canada and we even have Will Witt of Turning Point USA attending so perspectives will vary,” St. Hilaire told Rebel News. “We have four debates, three of which are about Alberta independence, and it will be a topic at the conference, but we will also be talking about media, legal issues in Canada, the Constitution and many of the cultural issues facing us.”

Among the speakers are Turning Point USA’s Will Witt, lawyers Keith Wilson and Eva Chipiuk, Western Standard publisher Derek Fildebrandt, Alberta Enterprise Group president Erika Barootes, farmer and Let Alberta Decide organizer Tanya Clemens, physician Dr. Charles Hoffe, Katie Pasitney of Universal Ostrich Farm and, yours truly, Rebel News’ Drea Humphrey.

Despite many of its speakers coming from conservative circles, We Unify describes its conferences as a place for a broad spectrum of ideas and respectful debate. This year’s program includes discussions on truth and culture, sovereignty, faith, resilience and the future of Western civilization, and socialism .

“The opportunity with this particular conference is in hearing new and different speakers and ideas come together people leave with a renewed sense of purpose and connection and maybe a few new ideas of their own,” St. Hilaire said. “We are looking forward to seeing what emerges from the weekend and especially to the debates.”
