Beijing loyalist and Executive Council lawmaker Regina Ip taunted democracy activists celebrating the overwhelming defeat of Ip's New People's Party's by pushing through a crowd of protesters with armed security.

Last night, pro-democracy Hong Kongers overwhelmingly voted against a slate of pro-Beijing candidates.

Today at lunch, locals working in the high-end business district took to the streets to peacefully support the Five Demands that the previously British colony of Hong Kong wishes to gain from their current Chinese government.

That's when Regina Ip Lau Suk-yee showed up, surrounded by a contingent of Hong Kong police officers. Ip did not address the protesters, but instead walked around the block, pushing through the crowds as the crowds heckled her.

For a Western comparison, this would be like if Trump had lost the 2016 election and took his armed security to push through a crowd of Antifa protesters.
