Tamara Lich Trial

Tamara Lich Has Filed Her Appeal

After more than three years, Justice Heather Perkins-McVey sentenced Tamara Lich to 18 months of house arrest and community service for her peaceful role in the 2022 protest.

Tamara has now filed her appeal, challenging the conviction and sentence with the support of her lawyer, Lawrence Greenspon. She continues to maintain that she should never have been criminally prosecuted for organizing a peaceful protest.

Under the current sentence, Tamara must live under strict house arrest for 12 months with limited exceptions, followed by a nightly curfew for 3.5 months and 100 hours of community service.

The judge rejected the Crown’s demand for a seven-year prison term, calling it “unfit,” but still imposed a severe punishment. Tamara has already endured 49 days in jail without trial and nearly three years of legal warfare — and she refuses to give up.

If you believe Tamara should never have been prosecuted for peaceful protest, please make a contribution to her legal defence fund today.
