Union protesters at Alberta's UCP convention: Kenney should exploit hemp oil instead of taking money from public education

(LANGUAGE WARNING)

Last weekend unionist gathered outside of the provincial United Conservative Party AGM in Calgary, Alberta to protest what they called “cuts to education and healthcare.”

Protesters, some of whom later became violent, were marshaled by NDP leader-in-waiting Sarah Hoffman.

In an attempt to understand what their demands were in what possible solutions to those demands might be, I asked assembled protesters how Kenney should be addressing the massive debt load left to him by Rachel Notley as detailed in the multi-partisan MacKinnon Report.

Answers ranged from running hemp oil in cars, to turning to solar. Needless to say, many of the protesters didn't get the briefing on that day's protest.
