Today, Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced that his Progressive Conservative government would amend the Job Protection Act to include people being investigated or treated for symptoms of coronavirus.

In a televised press conference, Ford opened by thanking front line health workers before saying that the situation has “changed quickly” on the “devastating, global economic impacts” of COVID-19.

Then, Ford said he was “very concerned about reports I'm hearing at the border” where incoming people are not being screened for coronavirus.

To protect workers and families, Ford said that he is introducing legislation this afternoon to keep Ontarians from losing their jobs or requiring doctors notes while in quarantine or while parents are taking care of kids sent home from their schools during the #CovidOntario crisis.
