A survivor gives a devastating account after evil gunmen opened fire at a Jewish event at Australia’s iconic Bondi Beach, killing at least 12 people and wounding many others.
In a chilling first-hand account, a Jewish Sydney woman recounts the moment gunfire shattered the joy of a Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach, turning a sacred lighting of the first candle into a scene of unimaginable terror.
Speaking exclusively on The Opposition Podcast with hosts Avi Yemini and Rukshan Fernando, described a horrific scene as bullets flew, witnessing multiple deaths amid screams and chaos.

The assault, confirmed as a targeted antisemitic terror attack, claimed at least 12 lives — including children — and injured many others on Saturday night on Australia's iconic Bondi Beach.
Two gunmen, armed with guns, opened fire on the event, reportedly shouting anti-Jewish slurs before one was shot by police and the other subdued in a heroic civilian takedown captured on viral video.
The shooting occurred during Chanukah by the Sea, a festival promoted as a family-friendly celebration, with many children among the crowd.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the shooting had been confirmed as terrorism.
“This is a targeted attack on Jewish Australians on the first day of Hanukkah ... which should be a day of joy, a celebration of faith,” he said. “An act of evil antisemitism, terrorism, that has struck the heart of our nation... An attack on Jewish Australians is an attack on every Australian.”

Gunman Naveed Akram, 24, from Bonnyrigg in Sydney’s southwest was shot and arrested and remains in custody while receiving medical treatment. The second gunman was reportedly by police. Officers are raiding Akram’s Bonnyrigg home., which his family has owned for about a year.
Police also confirmed suspicious items were found near the scene, including an improvised explosive device, now being examined by specialist officers.

Many warned leaders of the dangers of mass immigration and immigrating Muslim terrorists, but our leaders did not listen. Now we are paying the price.
