A Liberal MP encouraged the abduction of his political opponent. He must be fired — now.

In January 2025, Liberal MP Paul Chiang reportedly told a room full of reporters at an ethnic media conference:

“To everyone here, you can claim the one-million-dollar bounty if you bring [Joe Tay] to Toronto’s Chinese Consulate.”

Joe Tay is a Canadian citizen and a Conservative candidate. He is also the target of a HK$1 million bounty issued by Hong Kong Police, part of the Chinese regime’s global crackdown on dissidents and democracy advocates.

Let that sink in: a sitting Member of Parliament allegedly encouraged people to abduct a Canadian and deliver him to a foreign dictatorship’s outpost in Toronto.

This is not just reckless. This is not just inappropriate. This is treasonous behaviour — and it cannot be tolerated in a free country.

And it’s not an isolated incident.

  • China interfered in the past two Canadian federal elections.
  • Eleven parliamentarians — MPs and Senators — have been implicated in colluding with foreign interference operations.
  • Not one of their names has been made public.
  • Kenny Chiu, a Conservative MP who stood up to the CCP, was defeated in 2021 after a Chinese disinformation campaign on WeChat.
  • And now, Chiang is allegedly advocating for transnational repression against his own opponent.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Interference Commission’s recommendations remain unimplemented, and Parliament was prorogued in the middle of a tariff war so the Liberals could quickly replace Justin Trudeau with Mark Carney — whose firm received a $250 million loan from a Chinese Bank shortly after he became Trudeau’s economic chief.

Sign the petition now and demand Paul Chiang’s immediate firing!

Canada is not a satellite state of the Chinese Communist Party. And our politicians should never be mouthpieces for foreign regimes. Fire Paul Chiang. Defend Canadian democracy.
