The separatist movement is growing in Saskatchewan | Kelly Lamb with Sheila Gunn Reid
Quebec isn't the only part of Canada that has a separatist movement. The Wexit idea has been gaining traction across Western Canada, as voters feel their voice is left out of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's Liberal government.
The recent provincial election in Saskatchewan demonstrated the growth in support for the Wexit movement. The separatist Buffalo Party. Running in just 17 constituencies, the Buffalo Party captured the third largest share of votes in the election.
On this week's episode of The Gunn Show, Sheila Gunn Reid was joined by Kelly Lamb, a Saskatchewan-based Youtuber and former People's Party of Canada candidate to discuss the Buffalo Party's performance.
Kelly told Sheila that people were hesitant to support the separatist party, but with the frustration rising, people were willing to take a chance:
It'll be interesting to see where people go with their votes in the future now that [the Buffalo Party] is getting more known — and to see what's going on nationally. The more that goes on nationally — there's legislation that's being pushed constantly — pushing people into what was once reluctant separatists like myself are just saying, okay I've got nothing left. What else do we do?
