Rebel News Reports on the 2026 B.C. Election!

British Columbians are heading back to the polls on October 24, 2026 — two years early. Premier David Eby called a snap election on September 22, blaming Donald Trump and the trade war for the timing. But the real reason is obvious: the NDP, which clung to a one-seat majority in 2024, is cashing in on months of chaos in the opposition. Kerry-Lynne Findlay resigned as Conservative leader just 113 days into the job after a caucus revolt that saw more than a dozen MLAs walk out, and Eby pounced within 48 hours.

The Conservatives have since rallied behind interim leader Lorne Doerkson, who has pulled most of the breakaway MLAs back into the fold and is running to be premier despite the “interim” label. Elenore Sturko’s CentreBC and Dallas Brodie’s OneBC will split the field on the right, while the NDP defends a record of a $13.8-billion deficit, mill closures, ER shutdowns, DRIPA, and a drug decriminalization experiment that turned B.C. streets into open-air drug markets. An election the premier insisted he wasn’t seeking will cost taxpayers millions and collide with municipal campaigns across the province on October 17.
