Fire Majid Jowhari!
Folks, for years now, Majid Jowhari has been dodging accountability for his cozy ties to the Iranian regime and blatantly brushing off legitimate questions from the people he’s supposed to represent. He’s the Liberal MP who’s championed reopening the Iranian embassy in Ottawa — even when countless Iranian-Canadians begged him to recognize the brutal reality they fled from. He’s repeatedly refused to condemn the Tehran regime’s atrocities, and when faced with concerns about whether his campaign might be swimming in questionable donations, Jowhari stays silent as a mouse.
Let’s not forget his infamous photo-ops with Iranian officials, the kind of meet-and-greets that should make anyone who values Canadian democracy cringe. Time and again, he’s been approached by Rebel News journalists — myself included! — only to run for cover rather than giving a straight answer about why he’s buddy-buddy with a regime that throws political dissidents in jail and oppresses women for daring to demand basic human rights. It’s as if he believes he’s untouchable, immune to scrutiny, and above the concerns of everyday Canadians.
Jowhari has gone so far as to physically block our cameras, slam doors, and call security on us, all because we dared to ask him about his questionable allegiances and track record of ignoring constituents who want honest representation. Ordinary people — from Richmond Hill to the broader Iranian diaspora — deserve answers.
The bottom line is simple: if he can’t openly denounce a despotic regime, if he can’t prove his campaign financing is clean, if he can’t look constituents in the eye and address their real concerns, then he doesn’t deserve to hold public office. Canadians expect — and deserve — representatives who put our national interests and democratic values first, not someone who seems to prioritize back-room dealings and hush-hush relationships with an authoritarian foreign government.
I’m calling on all concerned citizens to demand that we boot Majid Jowhari from office. This isn’t about left, right, or center. It’s about integrity, accountability, and standing up for the rights and values that make Canada a beacon of freedom. If Jowhari won’t come clean, then let’s make it clear that public office is a privilege — not a private clubhouse for politicians who shrug off the truth. Enough is enough. Sign this petition, share it far and wide, and let’s send a message that Canadians won’t stand for shady dealings and pro-regime politicking. Fire Jowhari!
