Foreign workers instead of Canadians? That’s the ugly reality playing out across our country. From coast to coast, ordinary Canadians are being passed over for jobs while companies import temporary foreign workers willing to work for less. It’s a national crisis putting Canadian livelihoods in jeopardy.
How did we get here? Simple: Ottawa opened the floodgates. The Carney government’s obsession with mass immigration and abuse of the Temporary Foreign Worker program has created a perfect storm. Canadian wages are stagnating, jobs are disappearing, and youth are struggling to launch their careers.
For young Canadians, this is especially devastating. They worked hard, got an education, and now they can’t even get a callback for an entry-level job. Youth unemployment is at its highest level in decades, and too many positions are being handed to foreign workers instead.
For too long, multinational corporations — with help from the Liberal government — have sold out Canadian workers in the name of cheap labour and bigger profits. It’s easier to import an exploitable workforce than to pay fair wages or invest in training.
No region or industry is untouched. From Tim Hortons in small towns to hotels in downtown Toronto, Canadian applicants are being passed over while foreign workers fill the shifts. Agriculture, construction, hospitality, high-tech — the impact is everywhere.
Canadians are fed up. Nearly half now say the TFW program should be shut down entirely — and among young Canadians, support is even higher. This isn’t a fringe idea; it’s mainstream common sense.
