Welcome to The Tamara Project

Media Enquiries & Event Requests Production Assistant Job

For more than three years, Canada’s political class has tried to make Tamara Lich disappear.

Justin Trudeau denounced her. Doug Ford prosecuted her. Media pundits smeared or otherwise ignored her. The justice system buried her in process, delay, and punishment.

But it didn’t work.

Rebel News is bringing Tamara back stronger, louder, and more determined than ever!

Rebel News is launching The Tamara Project to make sure that Tamara Lich remains visible, heard, and protected, and that the millions of Canadians she stood up for are never silenced again.

Who is Tamara Lich?

Tamara was never supposed to be a public figure.

She isn’t a politician. She isn’t a professional pundit. She wasn’t groomed by elites or manufactured by a political party or an oligarch.

She is an ordinary Canadian — a loving mother and grandmother, a proud Métis woman, a proud Albertan — who stepped forward during an extraordinary moment, and paid an extraordinary price for it.

When governments shut down the country, imposed sweeping lockdowns and vaccine mandates, and crushed dissent during the COVID-19 pandemic, millions of Canadians felt powerless and voiceless.

Tamara Lich changed that.

As one of the key organizers and public faces of the 2022 Freedom Convoy, she emerged as a calm, principled spokesperson for Canadians who believed their civil liberties were being trampled — and who refused to be bullied into silence.

That made her dangerous — to the establishment.

The media smeared the truckers as Russian agents controlled by Vladimir Putin. Justin Trudeau labeled them extremists. And the federal government invoked the Emergencies Act — the closest thing to martial law in Canada — to shut the protest down.

Tamara endured nearly three years of legal warfare, including 49 days in jail, in what has become the longest mischief prosecution in Canadian history. She was dragged through courtrooms and headlines — not because she was violent or corrupt, but because she was effective.

After more than three years, Justice Heather Perkins-McVey sentenced Tamara to 18 months of house arrest for her peaceful role in the convoy. The judge imposed a punishment designed to isolate her and push her out of public life.

And yet — she refuses to give up.

What is The Tamara Project?

The Tamara Project is a focused effort to bring Tamara Lich back into public life as an active voice engaging Canadians across the country.

Working with Rebel News, Tamara will write, speak, travel, interview, and report, using her firsthand experience to connect with ordinary Canadians, challenge abuses of power, and examine how civil liberties have been eroded in modern Canada.

At the center of the project is her next book, which picks up where Hold the Line left off — documenting the Public Order Emergency Commission, her trial, her sentencing, and what it’s really like to live inside Canada’s justice system as a political target.

Tamara will tour Canada for events and community gatherings, speak on campuses and at public forums, conduct interviews with major thinkers and public figures, appear on panels and livestreams, and engage in on-the-ground journalism with Canadians affected by government overreach and political double standards.

Keeping Tamara Safe

But the world has changed.

Public figures who challenge the political and media elites are now routinely harassed, threatened, and physically attacked. In Canada, independent journalists increasingly require professional security simply to do their jobs.

Tamara is no exception.

If she is going to travel, speak publicly, appear at events, or go onto campuses, her safety must be guaranteed. That means trained security personnel, advance coordination, and serious logistical planning.

The reality is uncomfortable, but unavoidable: security is not optional, and it is not cheap.

Hiring a Dedicated Producer for Tamara

As The Tamara Project expands, it will require more than passion and public support — it requires professional, day-to-day coordination to keep Tamara visible, effective, and focused on the work Canadians expect her to do.

Rebel News is now hiring a dedicated Assistant Producer to work directly with Tamara Lich, handling travel logistics, interview scheduling, media requests, and production coordination so she can concentrate on writing, reporting, and speaking with Canadians across the country.

This role is a critical part of making the project sustainable and effective, especially given the legal, security, and logistical realities Tamara faces.

If you are highly organized, politically aware, and want to play a hands-on role in one of the most important civil-liberties projects in Canada today, we encourage you to apply.

How You Can Help

The Tamara Project depends entirely on supporters who believe civil liberties matter, that peaceful protest should not be criminalized, and that Tamara should not be silenced.

Your support helps fund the real, practical work Rebel News is undertaking to put Tamara back into public life:

  • A full-time salary,
  • Travel and coordination under strict probation rules,
  • Hiring a producer dedicated to Tamara,
  • Filming, editing and publishing,
  • And the professional security required for her to do this work safely.

This is what standing up for freedom looks like — ensuring Tamara’s voice is heard across Canada, and making sure she is protected while she speaks.

If you believe civil liberties matter, if you believe courage should not be punished, and if you believe truth is worth defending, please help make The Tamara Project possible.

Stand with Tamara.

Help us put her to work.

Help us protect her.

If you chip in $250 dollars, we’ll put your name on a special "Tamara's Angels" plaque that we’ll give to Tamara, and hang on the wall at Rebel News HQ.

And if you are able to contribute $1,000 to her security, Tamara will personally phone you to say thanks.

HELP FUND THE TAMARA PROJECT!

Tamara Lich is under house arrest — so how did we just hire her at Rebel News?

Tamara Lich, the leader of the trucker convoy, was sentenced to a year under house arrest.

She's only allowed to leave her home for medical appointments and church, and a few hours a week to buy groceries. She's not allowed to go out for dinner or visit friends or even go for a walk.

But there is another exception: she can leave her home for work.

So, with the guidance of Tamara's lawyer, Rebel News has offered Tamara a formal job as our new Community Ambassador. We sent the job offer to Tamara's probation officer, and walked her through it, line by line — including the parts about Tamara travelling. And to our relief, the probation officer approved it!

Tamara is going to go to events representing Rebel News, she'll write a new book and do a book tour too. And the most important part of Tamara's job will be our upcoming campus tour, where Tamara will go town by town, talking to young people about freedom and hope.

She is such a good role model and such a positive person, we truly think she'll help us win the battle of ideas with young people.

Unfortunately, Canada has seen increasing violence, too, including from Antifa thugs and pro-Hamas extremists. Just last week, a conservative professor, Frances Widdowson, was mobbed by left-wing extremists at the University of Victoria, and police did nothing to protect her. We simply can't have that happen to our Tamara.

So we've promised Tamara that we will protect her.

We will have professional security guards with her when she goes out in public to do journalism.

And when she goes on campus, we'll have at least four guards assigned just to protect her personally, and more to secure the larger venue.

It's outrageous that police and campus security won't protect conservatives. No other journalists or activists in Canada have to hire private security guards to keep them safe. At Rebel News, it's actually one of our largest expenses. It's unfair, but that's the world we live in.

Will you help me keep Tamara safe on her speaking tour?

Please help us fund the security costs for Tamara Lich's travel as our new community ambassador. Let's help Tamara and help keep her safe, too.
